President Nicolás Maduro celebrates the life of the poet and writer Gustavo Pereira and congratulates him on his 84th birthday.

“My congratulations and good wishes to the Venezuelan poet and writer, Gustavo Pereira, a great master of national literature, whose work holds a place of honor in our cultural heritage. Happy birthday!” , said the Head of State through his account on Social Network X.

Gustavo Pereira is a Venezuelan poet and literary critic, born on March 7, 1940. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest figures in literature in his country and in Latin America in general.

Pereira won the National Prize for Literature of Venezuela (2001), editor of the Preamble to the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela; his literary works include the Book of Somaris (1974), Second Book of Somaris (1979), Preparations for the Journey (1964), The Interior of the Shadows (1968), The Four Horizons of Heaven (1970), The Worst of Trades (1990), The Party Continues (1992), Wild Writer (1993), Indian Side (2001) and The Invisible Beings (2005), among other works.
