This Thursday, August 15, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that North American imperialism “today has stunned the world because they deny the President. Biden interventionally stated about Venezuela's internal affairs, that it is the sole responsibility of Venezuelans.”

“He gives an opinion and after half an hour some State Department spokespersons deny it. In the end who rules the United States? Who is in charge of foreign policy? The President says something and then his own Foreign Office and the White House deny it,” he criticized.

This was stated by the head of state, in statements, after leaving the Meeting of the Entrepreneurial Engine, regarding the joint communiqué Brazil, Colombia and Mexico and about the recent pronouncement of U.S. President Joe Biden.

In that regard, he maintained that he “fully and absolutely rejects that the United States government intends to become the electoral authority of Venezuela or of any place in the world.”

Venezuela has sovereignty, it is an independent country with a Constitution, and any conflicts that exist in the country of any kind are resolved between Venezuelans, with their institutions and their laws,” he emphasized.

He ratified that nothing and no one will disfigure the path of our Constitution because our country has an electoral schedule and has institutions to defend itself, claiming that the Public Powers of Venezuela have the last word.

“I don't practice microphone diplomacy, ever, because then you become an advisor to other countries,” he said, adding that the United States has imperial, interventionist diplomacy.

He also recalled that the former President of the United States, Donald Trump “made very serious complaints, that they made a fraud to him, and there was a strong conflict and on January 6, 2021, an assault on Congress and the one who ratified President Biden's victory, was the Congress of the United States.”

“Nobody in the world came out to tell them that because there was fraud they should do this or do that, no, no one, as it should be in the 21st century,” he said.

He also pointed out that at the time the former president of Brazil, Jair Bolsonaro, “an ally of the fascist extreme right in Venezuela, also shouted fraud and did not accept defeat and it was the Brazilian Court that decided. Nobody left Venezuela, nor do I think in the world, to ask for anything, a holy word to the Court of Brazil.”

He stressed that also during the coup attempt and the assault on Public Powers, “on January 08, what was done from Venezuela was to condemn the violence of fascism.”

In the case of Colombia, he said that relations have been rebuilt with great dedication, “I think relations with President Petro are going well. We talk privately about a lot of topics, all the time, and we call each other on the phone and talk about a lot of topics as well.”

“I would never practice microphone diplomacy with Colombia, never, I am the guarantor of peace negotiations, and I will never give opinions about what Colombia should do to overcome the war, which is terrible,” he emphasized.

In these scenarios, President Maduro emphasized that each President and each country knows what to do with their internal affairs.

Regarding the process being carried out by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), he replied that the Supreme Court is doing its job “and we must respect” that Public Power.

“Let's hope that they will carry out their work and this electoral dispute, as the Constitution says and as the law says, we hope that it will be resolved in the highest instance that Venezuela created in its Constitution and in its Public Institutions. They keep public opinion well informed and we request the greatest respect from the Supreme Court, since they, when they estimate, will give a final judgment,” he said.
