This Friday, August 9th, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, condemned that sectors of the Venezuelan opposition used the electoral campaign in Venezuela to organize their violent and destabilization plans against the country.

In this regard, the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) pointed out that 80% of those who participated in these scenarios were trained in Texas, Colombia, Peru and Chile, but they are already captured and being prosecuted.

“They used the campaign to organize the commandos, whom we saw burning, shooting, killing, detracting; they used public liberties for that and they used networks to poison the minds of a sector of the population ( ...) That electoral campaign was to hire armed groups, including motorized groups and criminals. Most of them young people brought from abroad and others captured here. They are already convicted and confessed,” he criticized.

He noted that they had the support of the United States and businessmen like Elon Musk, at the same time, he indicated that “killing Chavistas, burning the headquarters of institutions, are not peaceful demonstrations”, as that sector tried to impose through the media and networks.

He also questioned the lack of knowledge on the part of the extreme right sectors of State institutions. “Now this man (Edmundo González) is hiding and does not attend the Supreme Court hearing, but before he had not been to the National Electoral Council (...) What has happened in the country is a blow against the State by not recognizing institutions (...) standing up to justice,” he said.

“That's why he's out on the street demanding that peace and the country's institutions be respected. Venezuelan justice must guarantee respect for the Constitution and laws,” he emphasized.
