President Maduro: Popular Consultation shows that it is possible to build direct democracy

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that it is possible to build a new direct democracy, where all communities decide their projects in an election process that was open, free, participatory and direct from the street, from the community, which has an impact both nationally and internationally, because “step by step we are going far and wide building the new”.
He pointed out that it is a matter of “going out and voting, in a sovereign way, on the projects that your community needs and then executing and bringing each project to reality, according to the specific need.”
In a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión, he addressed the country on the occasion of the election day of the II National Popular Consultation 2025, in which he stressed that “this is an issue that involves all of us. This is the path, where the People think, organize, have their own ideas, execute them and then be held to account, directly without bureaucracy. This is the New State.”
The Head of State, in view of the successful organization and development of the National Popular Consultation, congratulated the spokespersons and spokespersons of the 49,000 Community Councils, leaders of the 5,338 of the Community Circuits, the Plan Republic of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the members of the tables, among others.
