The president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás Maduro, proposed the restructuring of the national leadership of the red awning in order to adapt it to the new conjuncture of the Bolivarian Revolution.
During his speech at the Extraordinary Plenary of the V Congress of the PSUV and IV of the JPSUV, the leader of the red awning proposed the reduction of the current 13 vice-presidencies of the socialist awning to seven secretariats.
“Of the directorates, there is one thing they call National Directorate, really, I like the strong national leadership and the Political Council, they are wonderful instances that produce politics, make weekly proposals, permanently generate marches, mobilizations, impressive capacity (...) because at the management level I think we have to go to an integrated-simplified structure for, at the level of the National Directorate, of the regional management of the states and of The 335 municipal offices, summarize, simplify and integrate into seven secretariats all the functions of the 13 vice-presidencies that we have today,” he explained.
He indicated that these seven secretariats, plus the general secretariat and the presidency of the red awning, would form the Permanent Political Bureau of the PSUV “to monitor and guide this situation and all the conjunctures.”
“I left Diosdado (Cabello) a proposal for simplification in seven secretariats so that this works in real time with greater effectiveness of action and political effectiveness for our revolutionary process,” he said.
