Through his Telegram channel, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recalled the historic intervention of Commander Hugo Chávez at the headquarters of the United Nations (UN).

““It smells like sulfur!” , a phrase that remained forever in the imaginary not only of Venezuelan women and Venezuelans, but of the world (...) Today we remember his historic intervention at the UN 18 years ago,” wrote the Head of State.

He also highlighted Commander Chávez's vision and progress in history. “As a good Bolivarian, he never hesitated in the face of U.S. imperialism, he took up the voice of the humble who cried out for justice, freedom, respect and equality among nations, against the system of hegemonic domination that threatens humanity,” he said.

He ratified that today more than ever the People of Venezuela are loyal and consistent to the Commander's noble cause for the construction of a new world.
