President Maduro: Referendum on Guiana Esequiba unified Venezuelans

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated the importance of the electoral campaign convened by the National Electoral Council (CNE), for December 3, 2023, which succeeded in raising awareness and updating the issue of Venezuelan rights over Guiana Essequiba.

“A pedagogical campaign that made it possible to give a voice to those who had never had one on this subject and to renew the patriotic feeling of a peaceful people who never resigned themselves to having their Guiana Essequiba robbed,” said the national president.

He also stressed that being a “sensitive issue for all Venezuelans, a political miracle was achieved, such as the unification into a single national sentiment and that slogan: The Essequibo is ours”.

It was “a single slogan that managed to unify a single sentiment, the historical rights of our country,” he said, paying honor to the Liberators of the Fatherland.

“The right to Guiana Essequiba is a libertarian right, in the face of colonial dispossession,” he said.
