The Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, during his visit to the National Assembly, stressed that the process of debating and consulting Venezuelan laws gives the People the power to decide on laws and their reforms.

This process of consultation and debate never existed before, we have to take care of what we have so that the birth of new institutions is popular, that respond to the honesty and ethics of a new era embodied in the navigation chart of the Fatherland, which is the Constitution of 1999,” said the President.

He assured that any amendment to the Constitution must be consulted and debated with the People who, in a referendum, will approve or not these changes to adapt it to the needs of the new times.

“Some people say that 25 years later we have to make changes to the Constitution, that is a debate that must be done with the People and not how does the oligarchy intend to ask for permission from imperialism and its representatives, like Antony Blinken,” he said.

He added that the Venezuelan Public Authorities are independent of the mafia oligarchies, of the gringos.
