After the signing of seven energy agreements between Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago, this Wednesday the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said that the alliance between the two countries is an example for the world.

“We are taking monumental steps to consolidate a relationship of good neighbourliness and brotherhood between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, which is and must forever be a relationship that serves as a model in the world, relations of cooperation and peace,” said the Head of State from the Miraflores Palace.

He noted that the two nations have overcome attempts by outside agents to create divisions. “How much intrigue there has been for us to hate each other, to mistreat each other, to confront each other, but wisdom, feelings of brotherhood have always triumphed, and just like today, peace diplomacy, diplomacy for cooperation and diplomacy for development, have triumphed,” he emphasized.

The Dignitary stressed that this is about the diplomacy of the new world, “it cannot be the diplomacy of gunboats, of the threat. There is a multipolar world, the first time in human civilization that a multipolar world has emerged with new powers that have no colonial or imperial projects and with new regions of the world that are rising with unprecedented force”.
