President Maduro signed the Partial Reform of the Organic Law on Communal Justice of Peace

The President of the Republic, Nicolas Maduro, during his participation in the program “With Maduro Live Suddenly” through social networks, signed the Law for the creation of justices of the peace in communal circuits and thanked the Supreme Court of Justice for their contribution to this legal instrument.

This legal instrument was carried out by the president of the National Assembly (AN) Jorge Rodríguez and the Minister for Communes and Social Movements Ángel Prado and consists of 64 articles and a final provision, whose objective is to reinforce participatory democracy and protagonist of communal voices as bases of Popular Power.

The head of state congratulated the people of Venezuela, the Community Power, the communal councils, the communes and all the representatives and spokespersons of the People's Power who were consulted and offered their contributions to nourish the text of the law and make it a reality.

This Act, approved by a qualified majority, contains the rules in the popular sphere, to integrate into the justice system, to preserve harmony in family relationships, in neighborhood and community coexistence.

The Act has been in force since 2012 and was included in the package of legislative reforms in the communal area managed by the parliament.

The legal text contemplates that communal justices of the peace will have the power to resolve any conflict between natural or legal persons, these will be renewed every three years through a popular consultation.
