At the Mountain Barracks, on the occasion of the closing of the Great Congress of the Historical Bloc, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, summoned the powers of the State to review the details of the election of justices of the peace by the Venezuelan People, which will take place on December 15.
“I call for this Monday (November 18) at noon the meeting of the five Constitutional Powers: the Legislative and Judicial Power, essential for this great task of justice, the Electoral Power, the Citizen and, as head of Government, the Executive Power,” he said.
He also mentioned that “Popular Power and military power are added, so that we can see the beauty of the most beautiful elections we could hope for for justice.”
In this regard, he stressed that he should activate the preparation of the grass-roots popular elections to elect the Justices of the Peace in the country's 5,000 Popular Circuits.
For his part, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, indicated that the Law on Special Jurisdiction of Communal Peace Justice will mean “an initial form of how a new State of justice is being built that seeks supreme happiness.”
He explained that the reform of the aforementioned Law, which develops the provisions of article 258 of the National Constitution, is, “what is contained in Q4 of the State's political apparatus.”
