The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed that the country will not renounce its historical rights or the principles enshrined in the Constitution.
“We have bad news for those who expect us to give up our historic rights, independence, freedom and sovereignty. Territorial integrity is an inalienable right, explicit in our Magna Carta under the Bolivar doctrine,” he said through Telegram.
The head of state released a video from that social network in which he quoted article 1 of the Magna Carta, stressing that Venezuela is “irrevocably free and independent” and that no power can ignore that character.
He stressed that independence, sovereignty, immunity, territorial integrity and self-determination constitute inalienable rights, enshrined in the Constitution of 1999 and assumed as a mandate that, he affirmed, must be fully defended with the power of the nation.
