The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás
Maduro, thanked the Government of São Tomé and Príncipe this Thursday for its
solidarity with the country, after his re-election as Head of State in the elections
of July 29.
“On behalf of the people of Venezuela, I thank the words of
support and solidarity from Patrice Emery Trovoada, Prime Minister of the
Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe. In the face of attacks on our homeland,
sovereignty and the will of the patriotic people, we will remain firm and persevering
for the peace of the nation,” said the Venezuelan dignitary through his account on the social network X.
In this regard, he shared a letter sent by Prime
Minister Trovoada, in which he expressed, on behalf of his People and Government, his “warm
congratulations for his re-election and renewed leadership”.
“We are sure that this new mandate will be a
crucial period to consolidate the necessary stability and promote the sustainable
and inclusive growth that we all seek. We believe that the Bolivarian Republic of
Venezuela will be able to achieve economic growth, mainly by lifting the
sanctions unjustly imposed on the Venezuelan people,” the letter continues.
He also highlighted his desire that “social peace be achieved
quickly in the post-electoral period, allowing the country to resume its path
of progress with unity and harmony to guarantee the stability and trust
necessary to face future challenges.”
