The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recalled that the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP), “were born in the midst of the beginning of the greatest aggression that Venezuela has suffered in centuries, an aggression that was denounced and confronted.”
The statement was made during the event held at the Bolivarian Dome of the Olympic Village, in San Juan de los Morros, in the state of Guárico, on the occasion of the celebration of the 8th Anniversary of the Local Supply and Production Committees (CLAP).
He stressed that the People must not forget what happened in 2015, when “an economic war and the war of queues began in January and then in the month of July, August, all the people's vital products disappeared.”
“They filled the country with empty shelves and queues for five and six hours that had to be done to buy,” he lamented.
In this regard, he emphasized that 2015 was a crucial year since there were elections to choose the National Assembly, before which “the band with the surnames, the band on the right, put together a demagogic discourse”.
“They caused the economic war, they caused the induced queues, they hid food from the people, but they took to the streets to blame Maduro and the Revolution. Here and in the world they are used to deceiving the people, to lying, to manipulating. They won't come back,” he emphasized.
In that scenario, the head of state recalled that a confused part of the people believed them and voted for the extremist opposition, “vote by the hand and it will be the last line, that is called demagoguery, deception, manipulation, lies”.
“A confused and angry part of the people voted for their historic enemies, they voted by the hand, of course they never confuse the Bolivarian and Chavista people,” he emphasized.
