President Maduro: The working class is Venezuela's greatest shield against a US attack

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Thursday, October 23, emphasized that in the face of the aggressions and threats of North American imperialism against Venezuela, and in the event of an attack, the largest that the country has is its working class.

“If one day they dare (invade the country) here or there, here is the biggest shield the country has: the working class,” he said.

In that sense, he asserted that “a pin would not be lifted and a revolutionary insurrectional general strike of the peasant working class would be declared in the streets, until power was taken back to make an even more radical revolution.”

“Brothers and sisters, take this as an order. The order is given, if they dared not a pin they would move in this country,” he said at the swearing in of the Promoting Commission for the Workers' Constituent Assembly, within the framework of the Strategic Plan for the Seven Great Transformations and the Homeland Program.

“We have organized ourselves and we have shown will; but, if one day, this is reversed, here is the working class, because we are not going to retreat, but a general strike of the entire working class would be declared. That would be millions with rifles as fighting bodies,” he reaffirmed.
