President Maduro: Venezuela has a registered community of 67,000 first-rate scientists

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, specified that one and a half years after the creation of the Great Science, Technology and Innovation Mission “Dr. Humberto Fernández-Morán”, to date Venezuela has a registered, articulated and organized scientific community of 67,000 first-level scientists and scientists.
“So far, because every day they are graduating and every day, good news, those who had to leave at the time due to economic circumstances are returning (...) get revenge now,” he said.
The figure was offered in the Sala Ríos Reyna of the Teresa Carreño Theater, during the award ceremony of the XX “Dr. Humberto Fernández- Morán” National Prizes for Science, Technology and Innovation 2025.
He said that “we have to have faith in our Homeland, in our efforts and capacities. Venezuela has given birth to brilliant minds, great scientists.”
In this regard, he stressed that scientific knowledge “is yielding impressive results, applied science in several fields of strategic interest to the country.”
He pointed out that the country has found the path of powerful articulation of a science useful for the country's development, peace, “of a multidiverse science”.
The head of state also highlighted that one year after the founding of the Dr. Humberto Fernández- Morán University of Science ”, “we already have 1,800 geniuses forging themselves as a golden generation of science”.
