President Maduro: Venezuela has a tradition of a powerful and revolutionary student movement

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Thursday, November 21, congratulated young people for the extraordinary concentration and mobilization of students on the occasion of the commemoration of Student Day and the closing of the Student Congresses.

In that regard, he said that “I followed the entire mobilization in detail, it was almost a marathon of the real Venezuelan student movement on the street, they covered almost nine kilometers.”

He argued that Venezuela has a tradition of more than 100 years, “of a vigorous, revolutionary and powerful student movement and you are the heirs of all generations of struggle.”

“What a joy to receive you here at the Presidential Palace,” he said during his meeting with the student youth in the Bicentennial Square of the Miraflores Palace, to celebrate the closing of the congresses of the Venezuelan Federation of University Students (FVEU) and the Venezuelan Federation of Middle Education Students (FEVEEM).

He said that “when I see you with that force of revolution and rebellion, with that hope increased in your slogans, songs and dances”.

“I see you and I'm seeing myself, because at that age I had the same dreams and dreams came true thanks to Commander Hugo Chávez,” he said.

The head of state stressed that “my meetings with the students of FEVEEM and FVEU are the most beautiful and most learning moments I have had as president over the years”.
