The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated that everything suggests that Venezuela this year 2024 will have economic growth of 8%, “with sanctions or without sanctions and the slowdown in inflation.”
“Today we have economic growth and a slowdown in inflation, this year we are going to have the lowest level of inflation in the last 10 years, from there we are heading towards growth without inflation in 2025 and 2030,” he said.
He pointed out that “we are going to a gradual process of recovering the country with a plan, with a good guide, with a good methodology”, while denouncing that “economic war is silent, but sometimes it kills more people than open wars”.
The proposal was made by the head of state, in Maturín, Monagas state, during the 37th broadcast of the program Con Maduro+, where he assured that the country has reacted positively to the economic measures implemented by the Bolivarian Government, in the years 2021, 2022 and 2023.
He recalled the magnitude of the impact of the United States sanctions against Venezuela, which “caused the loss of 99% of national income, in one year we went from 56 billion dollars in oil revenues and the next year, 700 million dollars.”
“We had to start giving birth (...) we made a plan, the alternative economic agenda,” he said.
