The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated on Monday the need for the country to definitely overcome oil rentism, so he called on the country's businessmen and businesswomen to consolidate the productive economy.
“I tell the country and I say to the producers, to the businessmen, to the businesswomen to the workers, to all the youth I say: Venezuela must have an economy that exceeds the definitive dependence on oil revenues that we have had for 120 years and we are in a position to do so,” he emphasized.
During the installation of the Council for Productive Economy 2025, the head of state pointed out that the wealth produced by hydrocarbons, oil, gas and petrochemicals must be complementary. “That it is a lever for development and economic support for savings and investment in the years and decades that are to come, is a great change, it is a great structural transformation of the country,” he said.
“It is for the country that is going to be left to you young girls and boys, entrepreneurs, workers, businessmen, businesswomen, the country that is going to be left you must be a totally diversified country, totally self-sustainable, totally independent, with a new economic structure where we are in the global energy equation, but where we no longer depend on those resources,” he said.
