During an informational contact broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the determination of the Venezuelan people to attend the Second National Popular Consultation 2025, despite the rains.

“The rains don't stop the people of Venezuela, because direct democracy is under way, and every citizen is exercising their sovereign right,” said the Head of State.

President Maduro highlighted the level of popular organization, stating that the country is moving towards deeper democratic participation.

“Venezuela is building a new democracy, a direct democracy where the people carry out all the steps of a new State,” he said.

The president also celebrated the high turnout in several states of the country, highlighting the case of Zulia and Táchira, regions that have been affected by rains, where a record of voting has been recorded.

President Maduro reaffirmed the importance of this consultation as part of the construction of an alternative, peaceful and popular democracy.

“Bourgeois democracy is exhausted. Here in Venezuela we are building a different model, based on popular wisdom,” he said.
