During the commemoration of the Chuquisaca Decree, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, emphasized that the Chuquisaca Decree is the number one milestone in a long struggle of resistance in the Conservation Movements, against the predation of Venezuela and the planet.
“We are heirs to Bolivarian doctrine, which is the alternative to colonialism, to the predatory way of life, to the plunder of resources, to the destruction of nature, as is capitalism. We are heirs to a civilizing alternative that is in full development, based on life, balance and universal coexistence,” said the president.
In the same context, he stressed that the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela (CRBV) of 1999 marked a milestone by incorporating the environment as a fundamental right and duty in article 127, in order to respond to environmental demands and establish a new path with duties for the State and society in ecological protection, and the Tree Mission, which was founded by Commander Chávez, with the vision of sustainable development and citizen participation.
