The President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, expressed his support for the Venezuelan government led by his counterpart, Nicolás Maduro, and assured that the civic-military union will defeat attempts at sabotage in the country.

“All the solidarity and support of Cuba for the Bolivarian and Chavista Revolution, led by President Nicolás Maduro. The strength of the Civic-Military Union in Venezuela will defeat imperialist threats and current attempts to sabotage the country's development,” wrote the Cuban head of state on the social network X.

Venezuela deployed 15,000 civil servants between the states of Táchira and Zulia (west), bordering Colombia, in order to guarantee peace, as announced by the sectoral vice-president for Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, this Monday.

The deployment of officials is part of the activation of Peace Zone No. 1, which aims to guarantee peace throughout the territory and protect the border.

Previously, the US Government confirmed the deployment of an amphibious squadron on the Caribbean coast off Venezuela, with the argument of combating drug trafficking in the region.

In this context, President Maduro announced the deployment of several million militiamen during this weekend through the Great Day of Enlistment across the country.
