The president of the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology (INAMEH), Reidy Zambrano, reported that tropical wave No. 51 is currently crossing Venezuela.

During an interview on the television program Café en la Mañana, broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Zambrano explained that it is Tropical Wave No. 51 of the 58 to 65 that are estimated to cross the national geography this year.

“We are monitoring weather conditions 24 hours a day from INAMEH, and we have highly trained personnel and technological tools to provide protection to the Venezuelan people,” he said.

He also indicated that as a result of climate change, higher temperatures have been recorded in recent years.

“In Venezuela, the climate crisis has a particular impact due to its location in the tropics, with two seasons, rainy and dry, highlighting the behavior of the El Niño phenomenon and the increase in tropical cyclones,” he explained.

He also announced that the El Niño and La Niña phenomenon is an anomalous warming that occurs in the temperatures of the equatorial tab of the tropical Pacific; when it is warmer than normal, we say it is Niño, and when it is colder, we say it is Niña.
