This Monday, the president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, presented her first government report, in which she described the progress achieved during the first 11 months of her administration.

The head of state highlighted that during the previous six-year term and so far in her term of office, more than 13.5 million people were lifted out of poverty, thanks to an economic model that prioritizes social justice and breaks the link between political and economic power.

According to official data, poverty in the country fell from 41.9% to 29.5% between 2018 and 2024, the lowest level in the last four decades.

Likewise, inequality was significantly reduced, placing Mexico as the second country with the lowest social divide in America, only behind Canada.
