The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, said this Thursday that there will be no interference from the United States because the Mexican people are united in defense of their sovereignty and reject any type of foreign intervention.

According to a review published on the Rusia Today website, the head of state assured that most Mexicans, with the exception of a few who are the exception, are against all forms of interference.

During his morning press conference at the National Palace, Sheinbaum stressed that the people of Mexico would know how to respond to a possible military or terrestrial threat, and referred to the notes of the national anthem that express that spirit of struggle: “a soldier in every son gave you.”

The head of state emphasized that Mexico prioritizes dialogue and cooperation with the U.S. government within a framework of mutual understanding that completely excludes any intervention or act of imposition.

He also stressed that the country is free, independent and sovereign, principles that guide relations with any nation and that form an essential part of the values of its administration.

In recent weeks, US media such as NBC News and The Washington Post broadcast versions of President Donald Trump's alleged plans to send troops and military intelligence to Mexico.

Sheinbaum denied these statements and reiterated that the Mexican Government maintains its dialogue with Washington on the basis of respect, cooperation and the defense of national sovereignty.
