President of Russia on Ukraine: We must choose for ourselves a version of peace that suits us

The Russian Federation seeks peace in Ukraine that guarantees stable development and tranquility, President Vladimir Putin said Thursday, according to information detailed by Sputnik.

The statements were made during a meeting with the employees of the Russian Foundation Defenders of the Fatherland, the president indicated that “we must choose for ourselves a version of peace that suits us and that guarantees tranquility for our country for a long historical perspective”.

Putin emphasized that Russia will not give in to anyone in the situation surrounding Ukraine. “We don't need anything outside, but we won't give up what's ours.”

Since February 24, 2022, the Russian Federation has been carrying out a special military operation in Ukraine, whose objectives, according to the Russian president, are to protect the population from “genocide by the Kiev regime” and to address the national security risks posed by the advance of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) to the east.
