The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, during the commemorative events of the Battle of Carabobo, reiterated that 204 years ago Venezuelans sealed their destiny not to be slaves to any empire.
“This part of the Battle of Carabobo in 1821, created by the lightning pen of the Liberator Simon Bolivar, for his military and civil genius who surrenders before Congress the story of the most heroic battle that sealed the Independence of Venezuela, the first battle won by troops from Gran Colombia, expresses the inescapable spirit of every American, of never being a slave or at the mercy of any force, form of power or empire,” said the deputy Rodriguez.
