The president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, spoke out in defense of sovereignty and the electoral process on July 28.

Through a message posted on his account on the social network X, Rodríguez responded to a post by journalist Orlando Avenaño, in which he speaks about the presidential elections.

In this regard, the President of the Parliament wonders if the leaders of Colombia, Gustavo Petro; of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and the former Uruguayan president José Pepe Mujica, would accept plans to attack the Head of State in their countries.

He also explains that the “fascist organization Vente Venezuela never applied to be registered as a political party nor was there any nomination on its own initiative” and that “100% of the parties accredited to the CNE (National Electoral Council) registered any of the 13 candidates, from all over the political spectrum, who are competing for the presidency of Venezuela”.

Finally, he recalled that in Venezuela “We don't meddle in anyone's business. Put your opinions wherever they fit.”
