The president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nicolás Maduro Moros, announced, as the first proposal to be considered by the participants in the red awning congress, the formation of 264,000 Bolivarian Integral Base Committees (CBBI) throughout the country.

“This new avant-garde structure must be deployed in the 264,000 streets of the country, thus consolidating Popular Power in the territory (...) I propose at this congress that in the 264,000 streets of the country the Bolivarian Integral Base Committees (CBBI) be formed, with at least nine spokespersons elected by assemblies,” said President Maduro.

He indicated that the mission of these committees is profoundly revolutionary: to assume the commitment to developing the values, leadership, and comprehensive preparation of the Homeland for defense.

In this regard, he stated that “they must be integrally based because that way we will have teams in every street with a leadership - certainly women - but working as a team, prioritizing comprehensive, ideological education, comprehensive preparation for defense and organizing the revolutionary, Bolivarian and socialist families of their environment at the base of each committee.”

“By making up the 264,000 CBBI alone, we would be talking about at least 2.5 million rank-and-file men and women organizing, militating and leading our people in the depth of the national being,” said the Head of State.

As a second proposal, the Head of State stated that it has to do with the “community”. He explained that there are currently 47,000 communities in the country with their respective teams that are a pillar of peace and a guarantee of combat. “Here, too, we must give special impetus and that is why I propose to organize the Command of Integral Bolivarian Communities, which is an instance of aggregation, integration and coordination (...) he leaves it to the evaluation of this plenary session,” he said.
