The president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, denounced that the intelligence agencies of the United States (USA) and Israel intend to imprison him to silence his political position.
“They could look for how to extract the president of Colombia with the help of the Israeli secret service, Mossad, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) or the Drug Enforcement Administration of the North American country (DEA),” said Petro, reports the RT agency.
The Colombian president maintained that the objective would be to put him there in a prison, “where his voice is not heard, in a place far away from the United States.”
Petro linked the threat as a result of his speech to the United Nations General Assembly last September. “That speech made a difference, that's why they punish me today and I mock the punishment,” he said, referring to his inclusion in the so-called Clinton List in the United States.
“I trust that the democratic force of the United States, which is also of workers, which is also of young people, which is also of women, who is also of different ethnicities [...], would not leave me alone and that between those forces and the forces of Latin America, which are in their villages, I would not spend much time in those cells,” Petro said.
In that sense, he argued that the voice of reason and truth would end up tearing down nuclear bombs, walls, irons, the attempt to silence thought and free expression.
