President Petro stated that “in our judicial investigations there is no Cartel of the Suns”

This Wednesday, the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, confirmed through the social network X that, after judicial investigations, a “cartel of the suns” does not appear, and he also confirmed that the cocaine that reaches the Apure state in Venezuela comes from his country.

“In our judicial investigations into drug trafficking, there is no Cartel of the Suns.” The cocaine that arrives in Venezuela in Apure comes from the center of our country. In Arauca there are no coca leaf crops, so the cocaine that can be shipped in Apure originates in regions close to Bogotá, on the Catatumbo side, the cocaine is managed by armed groups that have strengthened there since they closed the border,” he explained.

Likewise, the head of state in Neogranadino added that there are more than 5 thousand hectares in the process of voluntary eradication. And there is a peace process with an agreed zone of concentration. “We have captured dozens of members of the Aragua Train, made up of excluded migrants from Venezuela and dedicated to criminal activities that cannot be described as terrorists.”

“Groups such as the EMC del Cauca have carried out activities that can be classified as terrorism, by massively affecting the civilian population with explosives or by using them as shields against army actions. Most of the Colombians who are murdered are murdered by urban assassins.”

The president reported that urban assassins come from urban gangs that have been formed by dozens in Colombia. “I have called for a unit of the government and the prosecution to work together in the dismantling of urban gangs, including submission to justice.”
