During the installation of the 82nd Annual Assembly of FEDECÁMARAS, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, highlighted the strategic articulation between agribusiness, the communal economy and the private industrial sector, while reaffirming the Executive's commitment to the development of the country's energy sector.
During his speech, Rodríguez emphasized the importance of the advances achieved in the productive and value chain scheme, making special reference to the agreements signed on energy matters to guarantee the supply of the domestic market.
He asserted that petrochemistry is projected to consolidate itself as the third source of foreign exchange generation for the nation, in addition to being a key engine in the creation of employment and in the recovery of the electrical and productive system.
In addition, the national president emphasized the relevance of the gas projects under execution, highlighting the role of the Perla field, developed through a joint alliance between PDVSA, the Spanish company REPSOL and the Italian company ENI.
“I take advantage of the presence of the Spanish ambassador to highlight that 35% of national gas consumption comes from the Perla field. So far, we have signed 61 oil and gas agreements to develop petrochemistry, guarantee domestic consumption and export gas molecules,” said Rodríguez.
The Head of State explained that the energy strategy has as its central objective to reboost the petrochemical industry, a decisive sector for the supply of fertilizers to agriculture and key inputs for the Venezuelan industrial fabric.
