The President of the United Mexican States, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, reaffirmed the guidelines of the national security policy on Tuesday, stressing that any understanding or operation with foreign agencies and organizations must be strictly subject to the national legal framework and must be compulsorily channeled through the High Level Group.

During her regular press conference, the head of the Executive questioned the actions of the state government of Querétaro for having evaded diplomatic channels by setting up a police training academy together with the American ambassador Ronald Johnson, a rule omitted from official records previously submitted to the Federal Government.

Sheinbaum also specified that the bilateral relationship is based on the fundamental principle of sovereignty and territorial integrity, categorically stating: “We want to have a good relationship with the United States, within the framework of our sovereignty, our territorial integrity, mutual trust and coordination without subordination.”

The president also confirmed that the Attorney General's Office is keeping an investigation open into the events in the state of Chihuahua, referring to the unauthorized participation of two agents of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) who died on national territory, while confirming that State forces will ensure the autonomy of the nation.
