This Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Nepal, Khadga Prasad Sharma Oli, resigned from office after massive protests in that country, local media reported.
Sharma Oli's resignation came after the second day of demonstrations led by a group of young people, which broke out after the blocking of several social networks.
During the first day of the protests, at least 19 people died and around 500 were injured due to police repression around the Federal Parliament and other places in Kathmandu.
According to information reported by Telesur, they indicate that Sharma Oli, who had been serving his fourth term as prime minister since July 2024 with the support of the Nepalese Congress, had been under pressure from his political allies, after the protests turned violent.
