Prime Minister of Saint Lucia reaffirmed support for peace in the region: We don't want war!

Sunday, December 14, the Prime Minister of Saint Lucia, Philip Pierre,
ratified his support for peace in the region, in the face of threats from
imperialism regarding their naval deployment in the Caribbean.
“We
don't want war, we want to have a peaceful existence, we continue to call for our region to remain that way,” he said in the framework of the 25th
Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the
Peoples of Our America (ALBA-TCP).
He stressed that
Saint Lucia is a hardworking people who are committed to the region continuing to advance
in its development and continue to be a zone of peace. At the same time, he specified that they accompany
the real fight against drug trafficking, as well as human trafficking and illegal
weapons and ammunition.
“The People of Saint Lucia defend democracy and freedom (...) and we are fighting together, we hope to achieve our goals thanks to the work of our governments,” he said.
In addition, it ratified its solidarity with Venezuela in the face of imperialist aggressions. “I hope that both you (President Nicolás Maduro) and the people of Venezuela will emerge victorious from this difficult time,” he said.
