Technical facilitators from the Foundation for the Development of Science and Technology (Fundacite) held a practical-didactic workshop on the agroecological benefits of biofertilizers based on the neem plant (Azadirachta indica) to the members of the Unidos Somos Más commune, who live in the Catia La Mar sector.

By promoting the use of local natural resources, such as neem, producers on the central coast guarantee environmental protection and the use of biofertilizers with ecological and low-cost agricultural inputs.

This training initiative seeks, according to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, to transfer scientific knowledge directly to organized people.

The use of biofertilizers based on the leaves of the neem tree is widely recognized for their diverse range of bioactive compounds, in traditional and modern medicinal practices.

These workshops provided by Fundacite bring community members closer to applied sciences and promote sustainable local production, consolidating the communal economy.
