Professionals from the Center for Electrical and Systems Engineering (CIES) of the Engineering Institute Foundation (FIIIDT), began the analysis and planning to begin the repair of the elevators of the Bolivarian University of Venezuela (UBV).

According to a press release from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the head of CIES, Michelle Palacios, explained that these elevators have a control system that, for seven months, has failed due to electrical fluctuations.

“The request for the revision of the elevators was made through the Cayapa Heroica National Plan and assigned to the foundation's specialists,” he said.

For his part, Tomás Ramos, Research and Technological Development professional at CIES, stressed that the wiring from the cabin to the machine room was reviewed and that “the fault persists in the printed circuits. It was possible to detect that the problem may lie in the activation of the variable frequency drive,” he said.

They estimate that over the course of the week, a complete analysis will be carried out with the electrical drawings in order to provide solutions to the request, doing full maintenance and seeking the replacement or replacement of any component that warrants it.
