This Sunday, Attorney General Tarek William Saab reported that between the afternoon of Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th, 225 measures of freedom were granted and executed to people prosecuted for the acts of violence that occurred after the elections of July 28, as announced on Friday morning.

These measures were requested in accordance with article 285 of the Constitution of the Republic based on exhaustive investigations based on new evidence and evidence collected by prosecutors.

Attorney General Saab reiterated that the freedoms granted are the product of the joint work of the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Judiciary, and no organization.

The review of the causes of those arrested for participating in the acts of post-electoral violence has taken place “because the MP and the corresponding courts are doing their job after reviewing each case, including meeting with the families of the detainees. It has nothing to do with any NGO,” he specified.
