Public Ministry agreed to filing regime for Evanan Romero

In a statement, the Public Ministry (MP) reported that after his arrest, at La Chinita International Airport in Maracaibo, Evanan Romero Gutiérrez, was presented for the crimes of fraud and association.
According to the publication, the arrest of Romero, who had been requested since May 26, 2025, “has nothing to do with oil issues or activities related to that sector, as has been reported in different media spaces.”

In addition, it was explained that “on February 17, 2026, the filing hearing was held and in accordance with the age of the citizen under investigation and in strict accordance with constitutional and procedural guarantees: the Public Ministry requested an alternative precautionary measure consisting of a filing regime: This request was agreed by the competent court”.
