Public Ministry charges citizens who posed risks to the Táchira electricity service

The Public Ministry (MP) confirmed the arrest of six individuals by State security agencies, who were trying to dismantle an electrical sub-station in Táchira with the intention of interrupting the electricity supply in several entities in the west of the country.

“The subjects were identified as Gustovo Arturo Ortiz, Torres Yordin, Steven Sanchez Rey, Jhonatan Jesús Guerrero Moreno, Yordin José Clavijo Ramirez, Jhon Freddy Navarro Mora and Luis Añez who were stealing electrical equipment in the vicinity of Substation number 1, located in San Antonio del Táchira,” said the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab through his account on the social network X.

The MP adds that attacking the aforementioned power station “could criminally affect the total electrical service throughout the Andean region of our country: For this reason, the 33rd Táchira and 99th national counter-terrorism prosecutors were appointed”.

“These criminals will be charged with the crimes of Terrorism, Damage to national electrical system facilities, Illicit Traffic in Strategic Material and Association to commit crimes,” said the Public Ministry.
