Public Ministry confirmed the arrest of former Petroleum Minister Pedro Tellechea

The Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, reported, in a statement, the arrest this Monday of the former Minister of Petroleum, Pedro Tellechea and his most “immediate collaborators”.

In the above-mentioned text, Saab explained that Tellechea is engaged in “serious crimes that attack the highest interests of the nation, where the delivery of the Automated Control and Command System, known as the brain of PDVSA, to a company controlled by the US Intelligence Services stands out, thus violating all legal mechanisms and our national sovereignty.”

In this regard, he stressed that these actions of the Public Ministry were carried out in strict accordance with the Law, as part of the ongoing battle for the defense of the country's institutional integrity.
