Public Ministry secures deprivation of liberty for four former CICPC officials for crimes in La Guaira

Four former officers of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC) were brought before the Third Court of First Instance acting as Supervisory Board of the State of La Guaira, after being arrested on June 30 for the alleged commission of various crimes in that entity. The accused citizens were identified by the justice organs as Aguilar Reyes Maya, Fredy Rafael Lugo Oliveros, Roger Andrés Omaña and Jhonatan Josue Burgos Sánchez.

During the presentation hearing, prosecutors from the Public Prosecutor's Office charged the crimes of Qualified Theft, Arbitrary Act and Agavillation. These legal prequalifications are rigorously typified and sanctioned within the regulatory framework of the Criminal Code and the Anti-Corruption Act, serving as technical support for the development of the corresponding judicial process.

The judge in charge of the case fully admitted the legal qualification of the facts made by the fiscal representative, after listening in detail to the allegations presented by the parties involved.

Based on the elements of conviction stated, the court formally issued the measure of preventive judicial deprivation of liberty against the four persons involved, in strict accordance with the provisions of the Organic Code of Criminal Procedure.

Official information, verified through the institutional register, confirms the activation of the regular channels of the Citizen Power to sanction deviations in the exercise of the police function. In this way, the competent authorities confirm the commitment of the Venezuelan State to transparency, institutional cleansing and the protection of legality throughout the national territory.
