The movement of passengers, heavy cargo and vehicles through the Eulalia Buroz Commercial Port in the state of Anzoátegui to the state of Nueva Esparta has registered a substantial growth of more than 63% so far in 2025, compared to 2024.
This was reported by the governor of the state of Anzoátegui, Luis Marcano, who specified that during 2024, a total of 3,426 light vehicles were transferred from the maritime terminal, while so far in 2025 the figure has risen to 8,723 units.
Regarding the mobilization of passengers, Marcano highlighted that in 2024 there were 73,612 people who traveled from Puerto La Cruz to the island of Margarita, and in 2025, 119,610 users had already been mobilized.
Regarding heavy road cargo, the regional president indicated that in 2024, services were provided for 16,107 units, while 15,096 have been registered so far in 2025, reflecting a constant dynamic in the transport of goods.
For his part, the president of ProAnzoátegui, Jesús Figuera, pointed out that these indicators represent a significant advance for the economic and tourist development of the state, since the port not only transports passengers from Anzoátegui, but also from various regions of the east and west of the country.
Finally, Figuera noted that the port infrastructure is undergoing transformation, with the comprehensive adaptation of areas such as docks, the construction of roofs for passengers, the total provision of the channel for heavy road cargo, the complete sanitation of the bay, among other improvements that seek to optimize the operation and service of the maritime terminal.
