Putin and Trump maintain telephone contact. What did they talk about?

The presidents of Russia, Vladimir Putin, and the United States (USA), Donald Trump, held a telephone conversation this Wednesday about Ukraine, the energy issue, the Middle East and Artificial Intelligence (AI).

This was reported by the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitri Peskov, who pointed out that the contact lasted almost an hour and a half, during which both leaders also addressed the recent exchange of prisoners, among other issues of bilateral relations.

Peskov indicated that “Trump advocated the cessation of fighting as soon as possible and a peaceful solution to the problem”, while President Putin recalled that it is necessary to eliminate the initial causes of the conflict.

The US president specified that they spoke “about Ukraine, the Middle East, energy, artificial intelligence, the power of the dollar and other issues.”

“We both reflect on the great history of our nations and on the fact that we fought together so successfully in the Second World War, remembering that Russia lost tens of millions of people and that we too lost many,” Trump said on his Truth Social network.
