Putin called Trump's announcement on nuclear tests “serious”

The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, during a meeting with the Security Council, described the statements of his American counterpart Donald Trump as a “serious matter” that requires immediate attention.

Yes, indeed, this is a serious issue,” he said, reiterating that Moscow has strictly respected the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.

The Russian Defense Minister, Andrej Removich, supported the presidential position and stressed that “of course we must focus not only on the statements and comments of American politicians and officials, but above all on US actions, and these actions clearly demonstrate Washington's active development of strategic offensive weapons.”

Trump's announcement was published through his social network Truth Social on October 30, where he stated that the United States will resume nuclear tests after 33 years of moratorium.
