The Rafael Rangel National Institute of Hygiene, an entity attached to the Ministry of Health, issued a health alert for the product Opdivo (Nivolumab) of 10 mg/ml, injectable solution for intravenous infusion, because it does not comply with the proper authorization to be marketed in the country.

The named product corresponds to the number: P.B.1446/22, lot ACH6846 and ACG0770 and does not match the number allowed for commercialization, so it is indicated that these are counterfeit products that pose a risk to public health, the newspaper Última Noticias reported, citing the Autonomous Health Control Service (SACS).

The medication is commonly used to treat different types of melanoma (skin cancer) or to treat lung cancer, renal cell cancer or lymphoma.

The solution, since it does not have the corresponding permits, cannot be marketed or distributed in the national territory, due to the risk it represents to health.

Through the document, the SACS urged the population not to purchase medicines, foods or beverages that are not authorized by the Ministry of Health, which must have their proper health record that must be shown on the label.
