This Wednesday, January 3, the International Federation of Association
Football (FIFA) announced the list of referees who will be able to
participate in international events such as Copa Libertadores, Sudamericana, America, among others
In this regard, Rafael Torres of the
Lara Referee Committee and Alejandro Velásquez of the Capital District, were promoted to the category of FIFA Referees starting
this year, according to the press.
After the update Ángel Arteaga, Alexis Herrera, Jesús
Valenzuela and Emikar Calderas, were ratified as principals and judges of
VAR, so they will perform the dual function.
In addition, assistant Jorge Urrego will also fill the dual
role of linesman and video judge.
Meanwhile, assistant Carlos López, together with principal
Juan Soto, starting in 2024, will be dedicated to acting exclusively as VAR
referees.
