The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Latin America, Rander Peña, said on Tuesday that the kidnapping of Venezuelan migrants in El Salvador is a persecution for ethnic reasons and has generated a state of national shock and indignation.

During a telephone contact with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Peña pointed out that these actions not only touch a political party, “but it has reacted with protests against this terrible evil that has created a precedent.”

He stressed that they also reflect a front and “a coup against gender and the human species”, stressing that the narrative of “turning migrants into criminals is not a migration policy, but rather responds to persecution for ethnic reasons, whose jailer for hire in the United States is President Nayib Bukele.”

“We must make history: the Nazis used arbitrary laws to mark undesirable groups and that 's what Trump is doing today with the Foreign Enemies Act to deport Venezuelans. The theoretical maxim described to indicate how Nazism acted was first to dehumanize the enemy,” said the Deputy Minister.

In this regard, he stated that for the narrative and the story “we are less than human beings and there is justification for all cruel, inhuman, perverse treatment, in which the question arises. At what point did a migrant worker become a foreign enemy, with the capacity to invoke an 18th century law to be expelled from the territory? ; it's a reflection of pure fascism disguised as national security,” he criticized.

Peña stressed that the National Government has not had a trembling pulse to carry out all diplomatic, political and legal actions to defend the Venezuelan family, wherever they are, because “what is truly important for the President, Nicolás Maduro, is to save the life of every Venezuelan so that they can return home to rediscover themselves, embrace their beings and thus continue building the country we want.”
