Ray Acuña and Cristian Canache champions of the K2 500 meters event at the Central American Games

The duo Ray Acuña and Cristian Canache won the gold medal in the K2 500 meters event, at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games.

The Venezuelan pair set an unbeatable pace in the first half at 54.62 followed at +1.18 by the Dominican Republic duo of Cristian Guerrero and Rafael Feliz.

In the next 250 meters, the tricolor team confirmed their dominance in the distance with a sudden shot, closing the set at 42.41 and leaving a final time of 1:37.03 to win the gold medal over the locals who finished with a time of 1:37.74 and in third place went to the Mexican team of Daniel Ledesma and Mauricio Figueroa with 1:38.52.

Venezuelan boating has four units in its medal table, one gold, two silvers and one bronze, with only four finals of the discipline to be played this Friday.
