Registrations for the II Venezuelan Astronomy Olympiad will be open until January 30

The sector vice-president of Science, Technology, Ecosocialism and Health, Gabriela Jiménez, announced that registrations for the II Venezuelan Astronomy Olympiad (OVA) will be open until January 30, 2026.
Through his Telegram channel, Jiménez invited young people to participate in this national initiative that promotes the study of space and the strengthening of the country's scientific talent.
Jiménez highlighted that the II OVA constitutes a training space designed to stimulate the curiosity, analysis and creativity of students between 12 and 19 years old, who will be able to approach the foundations of astronomy and the challenges posed by the exploration of the universe.
He indicated that this competition is part of the National Scientific Seedbeds Program, a public policy that promotes the early participation of children and young people in strategic areas of knowledge. He indicated that this effort aims to consolidate a generation capable of transforming its environment through study and research.
The vice-minister of the sector reiterated that science is an essential component of national sovereignty and that young Venezuelans play a central role in building a country with greater technological capabilities.
